Workshop
Last Tuesday, we had the pleasure of hosting a Resin Jewelry Making Workshop at Erguvan Studio in Houston, Texas. It was a delightful afternoon filled with creativity and community, guided by our dedicated local instructors, Husna, Esma, and Meliha.
Various Creative Techniques
Our nine attendees, including a mix of relatives and local enthusiasts who learned about the event through our flyers, explored various techniques in resin jewelry making. Some attendees experimented with vibrant pigmented resins in a style reminiscent of the Turkish art of ebru, creating swirling patterns with multiple colors. Others opted for monochromatic designs or used light pigments for a translucent effect, decorating their pieces with the delicate dried flowers we provided.
This hands-on experience not only allowed participants to express their artistic visions but also helped them to craft personalized pieces they could take home and cherish.
Community Building and Lasting Impressions
The workshop was more than just an opportunity to learn new skills; it was a chance to connect. One participant, who maintains her own bead jewelry collection on Instagram, asked to be kept informed about future workshops, indicating the strong community interest in continued artistic engagements. Another surprise was the participation of a local artist with a background in studio art, who was eager to explore new applications of resin beyond her usual work.
Our Commitment to Improvement
The positive feedback we received was immensely encouraging, though we also recognized areas for improvement. Future workshops will benefit from even more meticulous planning and preparation. We aim to refine our setup process, improve on-site coordination, and enhance the overall attendee experience by making sure every detail is considered well in advance.
