Music, Poetry, and Art-Making at the EuroErguvan Art Night

On July 27, Erguvan Art & Academy hosted its first Europe-based art night through Zoom. The event brought together young people from across countries through live performances, recorded videos, poetry readings, and storytelling.

The night opened with a welcome speech written and presented by Mustafa and Asuman. Their speech introduced the program and set the tone for the rest of the evening: pausing the daily rush, reconnecting with one another, and approaching art as a space to share.

🎵 Music Performances

Musical segments included both live and pre-recorded performances. Mercan & Meryem performed songs on the violin and the oud, live from New Jersey. Miranda from New Jersey played the ukulele. Hale played a short live piano set, and other performances came in from Erkam & Alican and İsmail Talha via video.

đź“– Poetry Readings

Throughout the evening, poems from various inspiring poets were read by participants from various cities and backgrounds. A multi-voice reading of Mona Rosa concluded the poetry section, with each participant reading a different stanza.

✍️ Visuals & Storytelling

  • A sand art video produced by Erguvan’s Izmir team but featuring an original narration.
  • A painting with coffee video made by Leyla.
  • Short, documentary-style videos were curated from past Erguvan Studio workshops and in-person get-togethers was included.
  • Dilara prepared a photo album with photos from Erguvan’s numerous projects, units, and events, and performed it as a flip-through.
  • Zeynep and Husna delivered personal storytelling segments from Rochester and Texas.

📽️ Event Flow & Technical Team

The program was run live via Zoom. Rehearsals had been held in advance to test timing, transitions, and content flow. A technical crew managed screen sharing, spotlighting, audio, and chat-based link sharing Presenters wore black-and-white outfits with a touch of Erguvan pink.

🎤 Closing & Personal Dedication

The night ended with a sincere closing speech, again led by Mustafa and Asuman. The closing reflected on what had been shared and invited participants to carry that energy forward.

A surprise section followed: a Father’s Day tribute poem, performed by Esma and Dilara.
