On August 17th, as part of Erguvan Art & Academy’s summer internship, we organized a hands-on ceramics workshop at BAYCC, led by Şebnem. The goal of the workshop was to introduce participants to the process of working with clay, exploring essential tools and techniques.
The event began with Åžebnem guiding everyone through the basic steps of shaping, molding, and texturing clay. Participants learned how to use the tools effectively and explored various techniques for crafting functional and artistic pieces.
Our guests brought handmade snacks, which provided a wonderful, homemade touch to the day and encouraged mingling during breaks. The atmosphere was warm, with everyone enjoying the opportunity to interact over shared food and creative expression.
Afterward, we hosted a continue the story activity. Sitting in a circle, each participant took a turn continuing a story, allowing everyone to contribute to an evolving narrative. This was a fun, light-hearted way to get to know one another, as well as spark some laughter and creativity.
Throughout the day, participants also learned about the organizations our guests were affiliated with. As a result, many were invited to events organized by these groups—expanding the connections formed during the workshop.
