BE-STARSE Summer Intensive | UC Davis

June 20–21, 2024

In the summer of 2024, Erguvan Art & Academy joined UC Davis and CITRIS Inspire for a two-day BE-STARSE workshop—an inspiring event designed to nurture future scientists and engineers through immersive STEM experiences. Hosted at UC Davis with nearly 40 participants, the workshop offered a dynamic mix of campus tours, research demos, lectures, and student-led presentations.

Art Meets Tech

Erguvan’s contribution stood at the heart of interdisciplinary learning. Dr. Ali Karatay and Esra Nur Altun led a joint presentation titled Art and Technology: A Shared Future, encouraging students to question how creativity and science fuel each other. Their session focused on quantum era technologies, accessible innovation, and ethical AI—fusing engineering with emotional intelligence.

Hands-On Innovation

Students toured UC Davis facilities, tried their hands at silicon chip-making, and participated in drone design workshops. They explored how AI chips are developed and learned about sustainable engineering practices, future biomanufacturing, and critical problem-solving skills.

Our Role

We are grateful to CITRIS and the BE-STARSE team for the opportunity to share Erguvan’s voice. By weaving together art, ethics, and emerging technologies, we help cultivate students who are not only technically capable but also imaginative, thoughtful, and socially aware.

This event marked the latest chapter in an ongoing collaboration between Erguvan Art & Academy and the CITRIS Inspire program. Through each partnership, we continue to expand our impact at the intersection of youth education, innovation, and the arts. Events like these reflect a shared mission: using creativity to shape the future of science and technology.
