Visiting Judith Murray’s Pure Pleasure Exhibition

On May 28, Erguvan members visited the opening reception of Judith Murray’s exhibition, Pure Pleasure, at Sundaram Tagore Gallery in New York.

Judith Murray was previously featured on Auctorium, an Erguvan project that shares artists’ voices and introduces young people to different creative paths. After hearing about her work through Auctorium, our members had the chance to see her paintings in person and experience the energy, color, and scale of her practice more directly.

Pure Pleasure brings together Murray’s recent paintings and graphite drawings. Her work is known for its use of a limited palette — red, yellow, black, and white — and for the vertical bar that appears as a consistent element in her compositions.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with Judith Murray’s work beyond the screen and to continue learning from artists whose lives and practices can inspire younger generations.
